William Frost (also known as Wilf) has been painting for over 20 years, inspired by a chance meeting with Andy Warhol in Paris.
Throughout the late eighties and nineties Wilf fully embraced the pre-millennium urban nightlife scene. He took his art into the street, choosing to paint on advertising hoardings and found objects instead of board and canvas. His distinctive style was featured on many club flyers, record sleeves, music videos and club décor.
He also worked in nightclubs on huge ultra violet paintings, revelling in the vacillation of the pounding music and the interaction between the lights and the paint.
In 1999 Wilf completed a B.A. at the University of London. He then went on to do a Masters Degree at the Royal College of Art.
Hedraws inspiration from urban landscapes and figures and transforms them into a colourful and magical fantasy.
The texture of his paintings is further enhanced with beads, etching and tribal markings
